Operations

Operations stands at the core of Clark Builders' reason for being. As a general contractor, our purpose in life is to construct successful projects for clients, and these individuals make it happen.

Whether managing projects or supervising teams or swinging hammers in the field, the members of this team share the primary role of managing the triangle of cost, time and quality within the all-important circle of safety. That demands self-starters with inventive brains and a take-charge attitude.

Opportunities exist to take your skills and abilities on the road as we tackle a variety of projects in various locales. Recognizing the importance of a well-rounded experience, we welcome requests to expose team members to various aspects of the building process, both from an office perspective and on our sites.

Wherever they are stationed, the members of this team are known for the collaborative environment that fuels their work. As Construction Vice President Henry Rempel says, "Operations may be the 'engine' that drives the machine, but we can't function without all segments of the business working together. A race car with the highest performance engine but no wheels or transmission isn't going to win any races."

Metal Buildings Division

Managed by Roger Geisinger, a recognized leader within the industry, Clark Builders' Metal Building Division supplies and installs pre-engineered metal buildings. Metal building crews need the stamina and safety ethic to work in all climates, often outdoors and high off the ground. The ideal recruits have the work ethic and loyalty that built Clark Builders' reputation through thick and thin. In addition, because erecting pre-engineered steel is a compulsory trade, new employees must sign an apprenticeship agreement and begin work toward an "Ironworker Metal Building Systems Erector" trade certificate. Join us, and Clark Builders will assist you in obtaining your Alberta journeyman status.

Safety

The Clark Builders commitment to safety is rooted in the fact that we care about people. It stands to reason that the members of our safety team must share that passion for people-and for keeping people safe. Our approach to safety is solutions based, so our safety team needs people with what Safety Manager Scott Duncan terms a "find-a-solution mindset." Which other qualities does he need on the team? Here's his short list: Diplomacy; compassion; communication skills; a can do, let's work together attitude; common sense; ability to stay calm in a hectic situation; confidence. "We take the welfare of our people very seriously," he says. "We want to positively impact field operations."

Administration & Finance

The individual members of the Administration and Finance team hold diverse positions ranging from accounting to recruitment to financial control to communications. Yet everyone in Administration and Finance shares the singular goal of enabling the entire Clark Builders team to do stellar work. Everyone strives for 100%. That means making sure your current customer feels served above all others and helping your team's work experience be enjoyable, supportive and growing. You'll thrive on this team if you are conscientious, approachable, an inventive problem-solver and always keen to put the customer first.

Information Technology

Working in a field where rapid change adds constant challenge, Clark Builders' Information Technology team is virtually indispensable. Besides developing and maintaining the electronic tools of the trade, our IT division trains and supports everyone in the Clark family who uses those tools. Working in a networked environment on HP hardware; the company has offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Yellowknife and numerous job sites in Alberta, BC, NWT and NU. Members of this team must share a passionate commitment to maintaining the excellent "no downtime" record that Clark workers have come to expect.
