Employee Profile
Louis Carbone
General Superintendent
Unwilling to leave Edmonton when his previous employer pulled up stakes, Louie Carbone joined Clark Builders in the mid-90s. Now he wishes he'd have done it long before. "With Clark Builders, the head office is here, not somewhere else. And they're very, very employee oriented. They know who you are; they know you've got a family. If you need somebody to help you, they'll be right there," he says. "There's a real sense of cooperation. There's also the satisfaction of putting up good buildings. "That's our biggest claim to fame. We do it, we do it right, we do it right the first time. At the end of the day, you know you've done something worthwhile. And they recognize it. When you least expect it, somebody will phone you up and congratulate you."
If I'd have had it to do over, I'd have picked Clark when I started. It's unfortunate I didn't find them sooner.

Quote
I ran my own business for about 18 years, so I know what it's like to run a business. The benefit of working for a large company like Clark is that I have access to things I didn't have access to before. I don't have to do the estimating, pay the bills, phone the engineers. And I have a place to go for advice and counsel if I need it.
