Clark Builders was contracted by the Russian government to design and build a complete village including homes, administration centre, town hall, school, daycare, medical facility, fire hall, waste disposal and power generation. As part of a technology transfer, all materials and equipment were shipped from North America. They were marshalled in Vancouver and shipped to the Port of Tiksi where, in the brief ice-free window, they were transferred to river barges for shipping 1700 miles to Yakutsk, at which point they were transferred by road to their final destination.
