The Clark Builders commitment to safety is rooted in the fact that we care about people. It stands to reason that the members of our safety team must share that passion for people-and for keeping people safe. Our approach to safety is solutions based, so our safety team needs people with what Safety Manager Scott Duncan terms a "find-a-solution mindset." Which other qualities does he need on the team? Here's his short list: Diplomacy; compassion; communication skills; a can do, let's work together attitude; common sense; ability to stay calm in a hectic situation; confidence. "We take the welfare of our people very seriously," he says. "We want to positively impact field operations."
