Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year: Clark Builders

Much to their delight and surprise, Andrew Clark, Bill Giebelhaus, and Paul Verhesen are now the proud owners of some wonderful hardware. The three, on behalf of Clark Builders, received the nod for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur Of The Year Prairies 2008 in the Real Estate/Construction/Financial Services category. The premiere award for entrepreneurial spirit across the globe, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award was initiated in 1994 to recognize the vision, leadership, and achievements of successful leaders in private business. Since its inception, the program has grown to recognize the accomplishments of recipients across 50 countries.

The executive leadership team is thrilled with the future growth of the company. “Our philosophy has remained consistent over our past 34 years in business. We’re a people company that just happens to be really good at construction,” said Paul Verhesen, President.

The award was announced on October 21, 2008 in Calgary. “We were really honoured to be included in such company. This goes to show the collective strength of our wonderful team,” said CEO Andrew Clark after the win. Verhesen echoed the same sentiment after receiving the award: “This award speaks volumes about the calibre of the staff and partners we have in both the field and the office.” The three have also been selected to receive a special citation in honour of Construction Innovation at the National banquet on November 26, 2008.
