Calgary, AB—Clark Builders is honoured to share we have been selected by the National accessArts Centre to deliver the Joseph Chung Centre for Creativity in Calgary.
Designed by DIALOG, the two-storey mass timber facility will serve as a performing arts training and creation centre for artists living with disabilities. Valued at $18.19 million, the 16,279 square-foot building will provide an inclusive and welcoming environment where artists can learn, create, perform, and share their work.
Delivered through the federal Green and Inclusive Community Buildings initiative, the project is targeting Zero Carbon Building certification. Sustainability and accessibility are central to the design, with features including 100% barrier-free circulation, cantilevered canopy, and a rooftop solar array.
The Joseph Chung Centre for Creativity reflects a shared commitment to removing barriers and creating opportunities through the arts. Once complete, it will support the National accessArts Centre’s mission by expanding access to artistic training, creative development, and performance opportunities for artists living with disabilities.
Clark Builders is proud to partner with the National accessArts Centre and DIALOG to bring this important community facility to life. The project builds on our experience delivering cultural and community-focused spaces, including the Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus, the Francis Winspear Centre for Music, and the Esker Foundation Art Gallery.
