A fixture of historic Edmonton, the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre is not only home to the beloved Edmonton Eskimos, it also serves as an exceptional recreation and entertainment facility. Several sustainable features were employed in this LEED® Silverproject such as a solar wall and passive cooling systems.
The cladding for this project was self-performed by Clark Builders’ own Architectural Products department, which included standing metal panels, CPI and phenolic panels with wood veneer.
Ensuring the centre’s ongoing activities were not interrupted by the expansion and renovation, the work was completed via three phases and included the following: larger Eskimo fitness centre and locker rooms, team office and health spaces, a three-level field house with indoor running track and fitness rooms, aquatics and fitness centre.
