Project Description

The Jasper Junior and Senior High School and École Desrochers project is a shared school facility, consisting of a 2-storey structure and one of 11 schools in the Alberta Schools Alternate Procurement (ASAP) III P3 bundle.

The process of achieving LEED® Silver certification on this project began with the design and lasted throughout construction. Some examples of the measures taken can be found in the construction materials, in which over 25 per cent contained recycled content. Over 35 per cent of construction materials were sourced and manufactured regionally. In the end, the project restored 50 per cent of the disturbed site area with native plants or adaptive vegetation.

Cladding for this building was self-performed by Clark Builders, from the masonry brick veneer to the composite phenolic panels and standing seam roof. The completed building was structural steel on concrete foundation. Featured within are shared spaces, living walls and a second floor green roof.
