Project Description

Phase II of the Boyle Renaissance project not only completes the campus, it also serves as the new home for The Metis Capital Housing Corporation with main floor commercial space and underground parking. The seven-storey, 90 unit housing complex incorporates Green design technologies including shared heat and power systems.

This shared system is the first Direct Energy application in the city, allowing for opportunities like the sharing of hot or cool water from one mechanical plant between multiple buildings. Additionally, the shared system also re-utilizes waste heat that is normally emitted into the air to generate on-site electricity which is sold back to the grid. The result is higher efficiency, lower operating costs and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
