Project Description

The 172,061 square foot ATCO Electric Distribution and Transmission Facility, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, is comprised of a conventional steel two-storey office building and a Metal Buildings System shop, self-performed by Clark Builders.

The transmission facility includes a metering shop, customer waiting area, cold storage facility, training area, large warehouse yard, and 22 storage and wash bays complete with overhead cranes. Making it sustainable, the facility also features a low-flow water system, passive solar lighting, polished concrete flooring, high performance window glazing, and rainwater collection that is used for irrigation.
