The Glenora Park Retirement Residence project caters to the growing demand for upscale senior living in downtown Edmonton. Situated in the vibrant High Street area, this project offers a total of 290 living suites spread across a 23-storey tower, including 140 units within the tower itself and an additional 150 units in the six-storey seniors' facility podium.
Residents of Glenora Park enjoy exceptional walkability, granting easy access to local amenities and the added convenience of on-site facilities such as a bistro, wine bar, rooftop patio, movie theatre, pool, and gym. Furthermore, a new public park is being developed just across the street, enhancing the community's connection to the nearby River Valley.
With over 251,000 square feet of above-grade living space and a total development size of 355,000 square feet, Glenora Park sets the bar high for comfortable and sustainable living. The project is aiming for LEED Silver Certification, demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility.
To overcome the challenges posed by disruptions in the materials market and supply chain, the Clark Builders team engaged the expertise of our SourceBlue procurement team. For instance, when the supply of kitchen cabinets was threatened, the SourceBlue team swiftly identified an alternative supplier, ensuring the cabinets were delivered and installed according to the schedule and budget.
In addition, our highly skilled project team conducted extensive constructability reviews which allowed them to identify potential suite or structural layout changes. The impact of the constructability reviews was substantial. By conducting them for each unique floor/area, the team ensured that the structure took into account any additional ceiling heights where interferences with the structure and mechanical and electrical components (M&E). This careful consideration prevented any compromise in the finished ceiling height, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming adjustments.
