The Points West Living Red Deer Phase II project was an addition to the existing supportive living facility, crafted with an innovative approach by Clark Builders. This six-floor, noncombustible B3 occupancy expansion adds 150 new units, including 60 supportive living units, 45 designated supportive living units, and 45 long-term care units, to the north side of the existing facility.
Emphasizing durability and efficiency, the project uniquely utilized precast concrete, not just for its robustness but also for its capacity to expedite the construction process. Our self-performed precast concrete approach enabled work during colder weather, significantly reducing installation time compared to traditional methods and allowing for larger spans in building design. This strategic choice enhanced unit planning, reduced long-term maintenance needs, and ensured increased durability of the structure.
