RMWB Transit Facility

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s (RMWB) goal is to actively work towards enhancing transit services and fostering better connections within and between communities. The core objectives of their plan revolve around minimizing transfers for passengers and enhancing the speed of arrivals.

To address RMWB’s objectives, they identified the necessity for a new transit facility to serve as a central hub for maintaining and storing their fleet of buses. To fulfill this requirement, Clark Builders' metals division was engaged to supply and install a Behlen pre-engineered building. The construction included top-quality Lafarge pre-cast wall panels and a Meti Span IMP roof and wall system, to ensure a durable and efficient structure.

Following the installation of the pre-engineered building, our team collaborated with RMWB’s trade partners to incorporate crucial elements such as trench drains, a concrete floor, aprons, and asphalt. These additions play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and accessibility of the transit facility, enabling smooth operations and ease of use.

With a capacity to accommodate up to 80 buses, the newly completed transit facility provides ample space for housing and maintaining the municipality's fleet. The new facility plays a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the Transit Master Plan, facilitating efficient transit operations and fostering improved connections among the residents of the Wood Buffalo communities.
