Sturgeon Data Centre is Meta’s newest data centre project in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland in the Edmonton region.
The project represents an investment of CA$13 billion and will support the continued growth of critical digital infrastructure in Alberta.
Once complete, the data centre is expected to provide approximately 1.6 GW of compute capacity, supporting Meta’s expanding technology infrastructure and the growing demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable data centre capacity.
Clark Builders, in partnership with PCL Construction, is helping lead delivery of the project through an integrated project team model designed for the scale, pace, and complexity of data centre construction. The broader delivery team includes Stantec and SLB, bringing together local Alberta construction expertise, national delivery capacity, and proven experience in complex infrastructure and mission-critical projects.
Early planning, procurement, mobilization, and site preparation activities are underway. As the project advances, the team will focus on safe execution, strong partner coordination, local and regional trade engagement, and disciplined delivery for one of Alberta’s most significant data centre developments.

The project team is working within sustainability requirements that support responsible construction practices, including a focus on low-carbon materials, waste diversion, water reduction measures, energy efficiency, and lower-impact construction approaches where feasible.
As the project advances, Clark Builders and the broader delivery team will continue to support safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible project delivery.
