The Equinix Data Centre in Brampton is a multi-phase refurbishment and expansion delivered within an active, operational data centre campus. The work required precise coordination to maintain uninterrupted operations while increasing capacity and system resiliency.
The project included upgrades to the 903A Data Hall, a 12,000-square-foot space enhanced to support 1 MW of critical power. Improvements included electrical system upgrades with N+1 redundancy, HVAC enhancements, new partitions and security cages, and fire protection and life safety upgrades.
A significant component of the project was the TR-06 expansion, which transformed approximately 175,000 square feet of previously unused space into new data halls, chiller rooms, and office areas. This phase introduced new structural, electrical, and mechanical systems including generators, UPSs, PDUs, and a high-efficiency chilled water plant, supporting up to 15 MW of additional capacity.
Additional HVAC upgrades were completed within an occupied 150,185-square-foot facility, including the replacement of air handling units, dry coolers, make-up air units, associated piping, controls, and rooftop infrastructure.
Delivered within a live mission-critical environment, the project demonstrates the precision and technical coordination required to execute technically complex data centre upgrades and expansions while maintaining operational continuity.
