Project Description

The largest construction project ever completed in Canada’s north, as well as Canada’s first diamond mine, the Ekati Mine consisted of a truck maintenance facility, shop warehouse and office complex. Also included in the project was a warming shed, A-frame coarse ore storage building, a camp services building, 3-storey main security building and a 22-megawatt powerplant. Through the initial construction, Clark Builders cultivated an excellent working relationship with BHP, which led to a strategic alliance for all of the diamond mine’s on-going maintenance and capital construction.
