Calmont Volvo

Calmont Volvo, located in southeast Calgary is a full-service sales, lease, repair, and parts retail facility. Our team underwent a collaborative design build process, that brought together the expertise of key trade contractors, including our own self-perform trades, a multi-disciplinary design team, and the client end users. 

Throughout the project's design and execution, our team extensively employed self-perform services. We efficiently constructed a Butler® pre-engineered structure, expediting the construction process compared to traditional methods. Our in-house expertise allowed us to handle the structural concrete work, ensuring precise control over the project schedule, particularly during critical early stages.

Additionally, our architectural product experts provided the aluminum composite panels and exterior finishes.

The pre-engineered building features 16 service bays, vehicle wash bay, a spacious parts warehouse, a 5,000 square foot sales office, a 5,000 square foot support area with locker rooms, second-floor offices, and a kitchen. The service center seamlessly integrates a 7.5-ton overhead crane into its shop systems.

A notable aspect of the project was the incorporation of an underground stormwater management system, which meets the municipality's requirements for on-site rainfall retention. The integration of this system marked the first use of the StormTrap® system, in Western Canada.

The design-build approach resulted in an efficiently designed facility, with accurate cost estimations at an early stage, and the final facility resulted in enhanced client satisfaction.
