Celebrating an Award-Winning Community Landmark
Clark Builders is proud to celebrate the Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre being featured in the June 2026 issue of Canadian Architect. The article, Miracle on the Prairies, explores the facility's innovative design, community impact, and architectural excellence, recognizing it as a transformative addition to Edmonton's recreational landscape.
Delivered in partnership with the City of Edmonton, hcma architecture + design, Dub Architects, and FaulknerBrowns, the Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre brings together world-class sport and inclusive recreation under one roof.
The facility features an Olympic-standard indoor velodrome, connects directly to the Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre to create North America's first year-round indoor triathlon training space, and offers a wide range of amenities, including fitness areas, a running track, multi-use courts, children's play spaces, and community programming designed for users of all ages and abilities.
The Canadian Architect feature highlights not only the project’s striking architecture, but also its role in creating an accessible destination that promotes health, wellness, and community connection. The article also notes that the project received a Canadian Architect Award of Merit prior to completion, further recognizing the design excellence and collaborative approach behind its delivery.
