Project Description

The Southwest Division Station is a 2-storey specialized office building, which includes11 secured holding cells with heavy steel doors, raised access flooring system; exercise room with floating gym flooring, showers and locker rooms for over 300 personnel. With security being a high priority there are more than 135 security cameras and a central control room monitoring all other Edmonton stations.

The building also features a 35 ft high clear storey; walls protected with stainless steel corner guards; structural steel framing with glulam timbers and Tyndal stone founded on 500 plus driven steel piles and 450 truckloads of concrete; extensive use of curtain wall; featured sloped masonry on the south face; front entrance glass canopy; a basement parking garage; and an artists wall in the front lobby. Extensive site development was also completed including fencing, external roads and parking, landscaping and finishes.
