The construction industry is entering a new era—one defined by smarter technologies, increased efficiency, and bold innovation. At Clark Builders, we’re proud to support a strategy that not only reflects these ideals but actively drives them forward.
On May 29, our CEO Andrew Ross joined leaders from industry, academia, and government to launch the AI x CE Strategy. Developed by the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce with over 30 partners, including Clark Builders, this strategy will promote innovation and collaboration between industrial and technology companies to advance economic growth, solve industry challenges, and create unique advantages for those located in the Edmonton region.
Why It Matters for Construction
Today’s construction landscape faces increasing complexity—from labour shortages and rising costs to compressed schedules and pressure to deliver sustainable infrastructure. The AI x CE Strategy addresses these realities by merging advanced technologies—like robotics, machine learning, and computer vision—with field-tested construction practices.
The potential benefits are significant:
- Safer, more productive job sites
- Streamlined planning and design workflows
- Real-time quality and safety monitoring
- Smarter materials management and logistics
- Faster, more precise project execution
- Think of it as bridging the gap between the digital and physical worlds—where AI tools become extensions of our teams, not replacements.
Clark Builders' Role in This Vision
Clark Builders is committed to pushing boundaries through innovation. Our Lean expertise, relationship-focused approach, and culture of continuous improvement make us a natural fit to help bring this strategy to life.
At the launch, Andrew Ross underscored the importance of people-first innovation:
“Integrating AI into construction is not about replacing people—it's about empowering them. With the right tools and partnerships, we can solve real challenges and deliver even greater value to the communities we serve.”
We’re already exploring applications of AI in areas like scheduling optimization, safety analytics, and digital project modeling—and this is just the beginning.
